Official: U.S. Government Does Not Understand Concept of Irony
7/3/01
- Obviously there has been no lessons learned in the Diamler-Chrysler
merger from hell. The U.S. is going forward with a memorial to
be erected on the National Mall for those that died serving
their country in World War II. Wait a minute, which country?
1)
The family of the winning architect fought for the Germans.
2) The design has been criticized as mimicking the large and bland
style of Hitler's Third Reich.
3) The winning
contractor is owned by Frankfurt-based construction company Philipp
Holzmann AG, which, to totally reek the project of horrific
irony (like Chinese-made berets for U.S. Soldiers), used slave
labor during WWII.
Ya think any of our veterans had any say in this tribute to their
fallen brothers? Save the
Mall!
