Please Pass On The Ketchup
Or: Don't Think Too Deep On The
Symbolism

Don't think too deep on the symbolism? What are we trying to say?
Whatcha suppose they mean by "W" ... anyone we know? Looking
at that big red bottle of "W Ketchup" conjures up images
of, what, blood? Of course not.
Here we have another example of Food for Republicans, and you can
take your freedom
fries and stick them in it. Republican
Food appeals to its main demographic, flag-waving warmongers, by
including elements of war, like Star
Spangled's "Choc & Awe" Ice Cream (chocolate ice
cream exploding with chocolate chips & cookie bits - har har).
Here, we have guns and soldiers on both
the front and back
label, lots of stars and stripes, and of course the agitated
looking eagle. [The eagle is actually expressing anger towards those
that do not support the environment]
You know, Washington
doesn't look like he approved this message. Reagan, pictured
on their sell page, probably didn't either, as he thought "ketchup
is a vegetable".
Of course, as these
folks are quick to point out, Heinz Ketchup = Evil Democrats,
so buy this stuff instead. Well,
these ketchup tycoonettes must have got the same e-mail a few months
back that got Republicans all anti-Heinz. Not only does Teresa
Heinz have little to zero influence on the company, Heinz
has thus far given 85% of the political contributions to the Republicans
(most big companies give to Republicans to remain big)
So much for #1 and #2 reasons on
the "About W Ketchup" page. In case you missed #1,
scroll
down this same page, and learn how food manufacturers sometimes
grow, process, and sell food LOCALLY, hence the need for factories
in other countries. #3 is a little harder to touch.
"A portion of every W Ketchup sale will be donated to to the
Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for
the children of active duty service members killed in the line of
duty." OK - that's respectful. But when the president of this
UN
and environmental-hating Freedom Alliance, Thomas Kilgannon,
says, “We’re
beginning a program this year to get young kids—high school
and college students—interested in military service,”
does this mean the scholarships the kids get send them to military
college? Hey! No blood for ketchup!
They
say that the "W" stands for Washington, which may
be true, because
W doesn't even know what W stands for. Although, looking back
at the ketchup bottle, and the last 3 1/2 years of Bush, safe to
say the W stands for war on both.
