- While lighters and tweezers are taken from the brave new batch
of air travelers, there have been numerous close calls here on the
ground which statistically should guarantee a major chemical, biological,
or otherwise type of accident occur before any form of future terrorist
strike. The chances increase greatly with each new accident involving
Tri-State Motor Transit Company. The
parent company's web site, Trism, is closed for a revamping,
perhaps the same should be considered of the company itself.
As not reported by major media, last week saw two highway-closing
mishaps, both by Tri-State, and both with cargos related, presumably,
to fighting "America's New War". First, a
truck carrying 42,000 pounds of explosive overturns, closing
both lanes of I-64 in West Virginia the evening of October 4, and
forcing evacuations in a one mile radius. The driver, traveling
with his wife, choked when taking a sip of coffee. This was followed
12 hours later by the
same company, this time by a truck carrying 8 Navy missiles
hitting a bridge on I-70, forcing another evacuation of one
radial mile in Myersville, Maryland.
