Quebec City Welcomes Spring with Yearly Celebration

4/27/01 - Spring is in the air, and once again the revelry has begun. Over the last 3 years, the America's Summit has grown up. A simple holiday inspired by the greenness of Earth Day, the Easter Resurrection, the unadulterated revelry of Halloween, and a touch of good old-fashioned 4th of July American Patriotism, the AS has become a yearly phenomenon.

This year, the fun was held in beautiful Quebec City. So important was the day that all the great leaders of the West came out for it. The Quebec City Council even built a magnificent wall around the city...a structure to be held in awe for generations to come.

Thousands of revelers donned the usual AS garb. Gas masks and riot shields were a-plenty, as tear gas sprinkled the streets like fairy dust or World Series celebratory champagne.

It is truly a magical time of year, where all walks of life can celebrate the wonders of life and free trade. The magic will continue all weekend, so jump in a van, get on your riot gear and join the Free Trade Fun!
