Continue To Wrap SUVs In Biting Irony
On the surface,
the evildoings of one really evil muthafucker not only united a
society based primarily on Hollywood movies and television, it has
also furthered the cause of American jingoism, history's erasure,
and a war ironic in fashion as it's function is to preserve freedom
by taking away civil liberties. Furthermore, after the devastating
terrorist attacks of September 11, flags, bumper stickers, and other
consumer goods produced in third-world Free Trade Zones became commonplace
on America's fleet of SUVs. To the chanting of "U-S-A!",
most missed the complex irony surrounding the aggressive push towards
the complete domination of the global oil market by American forces
now firmly placed in Central Asia, a move necessary to provide fuel
to a blatantly-wasteful consumer market in the United States. The
former CEO of Halliburton, the former CEO of Arbusto Oil, and
Bush's corporate-minded army of cabinet members and advisors were
